SCHOOL-BASED SERVICES
The goal of school-based ABA services is to support students with behavioral challenges in the school environment, and help them achieve academic and social goals, and promote their development and success among other children.
SBEC also offers school-based services by our professional team to assist children and their families in attending Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and provide comprehensive school-based plans.
ABA services are provided by a certified BCBAs, QABs and behavioral technicians in collaboration with teachers and the school team to improve social and academic skills.
ABA services in a school-based context vary according to the child’s needs, barriers, school environment, and staff.
SBEC ROLES TO IMPROVE BEHAVIORS
1. Functional Behavior Assessment to identify the function or purpose of
a student’s challenging behaviors.
2. Create an individualized behavior intervention plan to address specific
challenging behaviors.
3. Provide one-to-one direct instruction or small group instruction to teach
social and reciprocal communication skills in the social events among children.
4. Behavior management strategies are implemented by teachers to promote
positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors with the help of behavior
analysts in the school.
5. Collect data on behavior and progress to inform decision-making and
adjustment to interventions if needed.
6. Working closely & collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other
professionals involved in the student’s education at school to ensure
consistency in implementing interventions and supports.
